This is the end of Halloween. I don't think the kids got enough candy! This was a very cold night. I think it was near 10 or 15 degrees. We froze, but it didn't stop the kids from wanting to trick or treat more. Now we all better go brush our teeth!

The Pocatello Zoo has a Zoo Boo each year so you can visit the animals one more time before they close for the winter. They have a costume contest and games. This year a guy was there with his pet Terantula. I have never held one before and did this time, and it wasn't that scary. This guy was COOL! I am more scared of the little ones in my house that zoom around. This one moves pretty slow and he was really soft.

I don't know what day this was but we were dumped on. The snow was perfect for making snow balls and forts. Burrrr!

Doesn't this look like a scary place to eat?

Then we partied at Maddies Grandmas house. This has been a tradition since the kids were really little. The kids had to find bones that were hidden in the yard and bravely go through a SCARY spook alley. We loved the party and had so much fun being with friends.

I guess we better move on to the big events for October. I feel like Halloween lasted for two weeks. We went to a party at the LDS church here in town and the kids played games and won prizes and got plenty of treats.

Pat took the kids over to help Great Grandma Jeanne pick up her flowers for the winter. They had fun helping and I was happy they were able to help Grandma.

...while we were visiting up at Cindy's house her cat posed for us and he seems to think he is a little bear. This is Tackle, I thought this was so so cute. He would just sit there like that. Pretty sweet kitty huh?

Hello out there! We are still alive and doing great. October flew by us. On October 13, Cindy turned 43 years old. Obviously she isn't going to post that info on her blog. (lol) anyway I just liked this pic and wondered if any one thinks we look a bit like sisters?

Smoke!!

I didn't post our puppies name last time, his name is Smoke. His mama is named Ghost I can't remember the daddy. But he looks just like the color of smoke I am posting some CUTE CUTE pics. Pat is so in love with this little one. Montana and Archie aren't feeling quite as much love as Pat feels. Smoke is driving both of them crazy. He wants to play and bite and pester them all the time, they have both snapped at him to settle him down, and he is learning. Smoke loves both of them and tries to be near one of them all the time. Now after this 2 weeks they are starting to let him sleep with them and lay down with them. I think they finally figured out he wasn't going to go away soon. lol. Well we are all doing great and adjusting to this new little boy.  Posted by Picasa

We had such a wonderful day today. We first just hung out and made some crafty melted crayon pics. Mariah came by to help us and make her own works of art. Then Cedar wanted to dress up for some pics. I was so excited. I love trying to get the pics to look old time and the kids love to dress the part. Hope you enjoy we really had fun making these. I love the kids faces and how dang beautiful they are to me. Posted by Picasa

The Hunter's Poem by Lemuel T. Ward

A hunter shot at a flock of geese that flew within his reach. Two were stopped in their rapid flight and fell on the sandy beach. The male bird lay at the water's edge and just before he died, he faintly called to his wounded mate and she dragged herself to his side. She bent her head and crooned to him in a way distressed and wild, caressing her one and only mate as a mother would a child. Then covering him with her broken wing and gasping with failling breath, she laid her head against his breast, a feeble honk....then death. This story is true, though crudely told. I was the man in this case. I stood knee-deep in snow and cold, and the hot tears burned my face. I buried the birds in the sand where thay lay, wrapped in my hunting coat and I threw my gun and belt in the bay when I crossed in the open boat. Hunters will call me a right poor sport and scoff at the thing I did, but that day something broke in my heart, and shoot again? God forbid.

This was the second day of school and I made them pose again. So now it is Sept. 11th and they are both happy with there teachers and love being with friends. They have been taking cold lunch and they are actually eating the food I make and they are getting the homework done and both of them love to read or have stories read to them. We have parents night this Thursday and I am looking forward to talking with the teachers and parents. Cedar has a new teacher who is so sweet, and Oakley teachers is the one everyone said was the meanest, but he really likes her. He tried to get me to change him but just after 2 days he liked her to much to change.  Posted by Picasa
